Cheap Weekends
Away
Cheap weekends away
can be a great idea just to clear your mind and give you a
break away from the monotony that is life. After a long week
working it can really do you some good if you get away for
the weekend and in these times of hardship you really need
to look for cheap weekends away.
One of the cheapest
things you can do to get away at the weekend is to get a low
cost tent and go camping, obviously you have to hope that
the great British summer is kind to you and it’s not raining
but provided it’s not there are a great deal of beautiful
places to go, if your trying to keep your weekend cheap then
you also want to look as close to home as possible given the
mounting cost of petrol today. You can get a camping set up
very cheaply but you’ll find that if you like it that you
will want to buy some better kit so that the weekend is more
comfortable, such as cooking facilities, tables and chairs
and inflatable mattresses so that you can be up off the
ground when camping.
Another great idea for
a cheap weekend away is to save tokens from the national
newspapers where they usually offer caravan and chalet
breaks for under ten pounds per person, there will be
charges on top of this if you want to use the facilities on
the holiday park but they are usually well worth it if you
have children with you and it still works out to be rather
cheap overall.
If you keep an eye out
for cheap flights you can even manage to get a cheap weekend
abroad, flights are often on sale at give away prices and
accommodation can usually be booked quite cheaply provided
you don’t want to go in peak season… One thing to note is
that many European countries have now become quite expensive
to eat and drink in so you may be well advised to check the
prices on getting an all inclusive hotel where you can eat
and drink all that you want without worrying about how much
it is all going to cost you. If you do go for a break abroad
don’t forget to factor in the cost of airport parking and
transfers on the other side, also if you’re a fussy drinker,
most all inclusive hotels charge extra if you want British
drinks so expect to pay for these unless you can make do
with the local drinks.
There are often short
hotel breaks advertised in the back of newspapers, these can
be excellent value and often include coach travel within the
price, which can save some money on fuel. Some of these
deals offer an all inclusive bar so this can keep your
spending down and keep the cost of the overall weekend away
quite cheap.
